LiDAR laser detection and measurement, also known as LiDAR. It is a remote sensing technology that uses fast laser pulses to map the surface of the Earth. LiDAR is very useful for creating high-resolution digital surface, terrain, and elevation models for various business applications.

The biggest recent change in airborne LiDAR is in data processing. Nowadays, data processing is more automated and streamlined, typically using a completely cloud based architecture, including manual editing and quality assurance (QA) in the cloud. This cloud computing based approach greatly accelerates the turnaround time between on-site and office operations, and has more versatility.

Now, after the plane lands back on the apron, project data can be uploaded quickly, and in some cases, the post-processing data will also be delivered in the cloud.

Compared to traditional aerial surveying systems, unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with LiDAR systems have several major advantages in surveying: high resolution, LiDAR can achieve extremely high angle, distance, and velocity resolution, and Doppler imaging technology can be used to obtain very clear images.

High accuracy, laser linear propagation, good directionality, very narrow beam, very low dispersion, high accuracy. Strong ability to resist active interference, unlike microwave and millimeter wave radars, which are susceptible to the widespread influence of electromagnetic waves in nature. There are not many signal sources in nature that can interfere with LiDAR, so LiDAR has a strong ability to resist active interference.

The LiDAR system has powerful built-in signal processing, wide field of view, and multi segment measurement functions, which can generate critical distance data and perform efficient obstacle detection. It can achieve high-precision channel measurement of long-distance transmission lines, tower tilt and settlement detection of transmission towers, line sag warning, and threat warning of trees, mountains, and geological disasters around the line to the line.
